Term for the taste impression for a wine in the context of a wine address, or wine evaluation, which is only at the beginning of its development. This applies above all to red wines. It still appears "youthful", "impetuous", "lively" and only in the process of development. You should therefore wait before enjoying it. In contrast to this is a mature wine, at best at the peak of a development with optimal drinking maturity. See also under young wine.
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
