Description for the smell and taste of a wine in the context of a wine address. In a positive sense, this certifies that the wine has a pleasant yeast note and a fresh, tangy taste, as is deliberately brought about by yeast storage. A yeast tone is typical for young Rieslings from Alsace and for wines from the Loire region Muscadet. For sparkling wines a fine yeast note is naturally the rule. In a negative sense, this can be due to an undesirable second fermentation in the bottle and is then also called "beery". See in this respect also under wine faults.
