Yahner Leo

The winery is located in the Gemeine Wildungsmauer directly on the Danube in the north of the Lower Austrian wine region of Carnuntum. A "Buschenschank", opened in summer 2008, is connected to the estate. The family business has been run by Leo Jahner since 2002. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vines in the two communities of Höflein on stony, gravelly and calcareous loamy soil with south-east exposure and a wild wall. In Höflein they are mainly planted with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, BlaufränkischSt. Laurent, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, in Wildungsmauer exclusively with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller and Chardonnay. The white wines are aged in stainless steel tanks, the red wines mainly in barriques. The flagship of the house is the red wine cuvée "WildWall" (Zweigelt, Merlot) from the best grapes of the vintage. Bottle-fermented sparkling wine is also produced. The winery is a member of the Rubin Carnuntum Wineries Association.
