Y (Ygrec)

Dry white wine from Château d'Yquem made from normal grapes that have not been attacked by noble rot. It may only be marketed as "Bordeaux Supérieur". The name is pronounced "Ygrec" (French for Ypsilon). It only exists in years with little botrytis, but despite its rarity it is not one of the great wines.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
