The winegrowers' cooperative in the municipality of Neckenmarkt in the Austrian winegrowing region of Mittelburgenland was founded in 1968. The cellar master in charge is Gerald Wieder, the chairman is Franz Heincz. The 140 members cultivate a total of 300 hectares of vines in the Himmelsthron, Hochberg and Sonnensteig vineyards. Almost exclusively red wine varieties are cultivated. The clear main variety is Blaufränkisch (60%), followed by Zweigelt (30%), Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Merlot. On about 40 hectares of the vineyards, the so-called "8 Grapes Programme" has been applied since 1992, with the help of which yields have been reduced to 5,000 to a maximum of 6,000 kilograms per hectare. A total of 45 farms have agreed to participate in this quality programme. Their vineyards, which must be at least 30 years old and located in the best sites of the Großlage Hochberg, are controlled throughout the year. The winery's flagship is the red wine "Potio Magica" (Magic Potion), which since the 2008 vintage has been produced 100% from the Blaufränkisch variety. Other wines are Blaufränkisch Himmelsthron, the Cuvée Via Romana (40% BF, 40% CS, 20% ZW), as well as the series "Vinis Unitis" (classic) and "Terra Cognita" (barrique). Winzerkeller Neckenmarkt is a member of the Blaufränkischland Mittelburgenland association.
