Name for a special salt that is produced by adding red wine to preferably sea salt and is therefore reddish in colour. It is used in the preparation of meat dishes. Wine salts with different grape variety aromas are commercially available, preferably Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. They are suitably bottled in wine bottles.
