Wine saints

Depending on the country, wine-growing region or even place, different people are venerated as patron saints of the winegrowers(winegrowers, wine merchants, coopers and other viticultural professions). They are saints or beatified persons, most of whom died as martyrs. Their commemoration days often have a direct link to viticulture in relation to the weather and the vegetation cycle, which is often depicted in rhyme in the peasant rules. The numerous wine saints with their days of remembrance are:

Weinheilige - Petrus & Paulus, Martin von Tours, Sebastian, Pankratius, Urban von Langres
