Wine powder

The name (also Instant Wine) is actually not permitted, as winegrowers' associations have protested against it. In the meantime, the name "powdered drink with red wine extract" has become common. There are already many manufacturers; as an example, the ingredients of one of these products: Maltodextrin, alcohol, flavouring, sugar, red wine extract, antioxidant ascorbic acid, colour E163, colouring food beetroot powder, acid E330, spice. This instant powder is usually used to flavour instant products such as soups, sauces and ready meals. However, it can also be used to make a "wine". The powder is emptied into a container, poured with boiling water and stirred with a spoon. However, one should not expect too much from the quality. A drink with an alcohol content similar to wine can be made from 60 g of red wine powder with 0.2 l of boiling water. On this topic, see also Artificial wine, Special wines and Adulteration of wine.
