Traditional term (also wine library, wine archive) for a wine cellar or cellar compartment for storing exquisite and very valuable wines from special old vintages. Such wines are also known as treasury wines or century wines. Such rooms are mostly found in wineries with an ecclesiastical background in former monasteries or castle complexes. However, they can also be found in modern new buildings. Three impressive examples of this wine architecture:
