The winery is located in the municipality of Staufen (Markgräflerland area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. It was founded in 1927 by Alfred Wiesler. Since 1990, the winery has been run by the third generation, Michael and Kristina Wiesler. In 2003, an estate tavern was opened. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vines in the single vineyard Schlossberg (Staufen). They are planted with the white wine varieties Gutedel, Weißer Burgunder, Grauer Burgunder, Riesling and Gewürztraminer, as well as with the red wine variety Spätburgunder. The Burgundy varieties are the particular strength of the winery. The best wines of a vintage from yield-reduced vineyards, some of which date back to the 1950s, are carefully matured on the fine lees with a high degree of varietal typicity and marketed as the "Wiesler Edition". Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble brandies (yeast, pomace, grape, cherry, Williams, mirabelle, fruit) are also produced.
