Widow's wine

In 1921 there was a long, hot summer in some European countries, so that in some areas even the fruit trees supposedly blossomed a second time. The wines produced an outstanding vintage. In Germany, the particularly strong and sweet wine was called "Widwenwein" or "Witwenmacher", because men with a weak heart had to fear a stroke if they enjoyed it excessively and made their wives widows. Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
