This branded wine is made from the red wine variety Zinfandel white and blended with white wine varieties such as Muscat Blanc or Riesling. This mostly sweet, tangy wine with a pale red colour is also known as blush. It was already produced at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and was then known as Californian Clairet (Claret). In the 1980s it became popular and due to the great success a White Grenache was created. As a result, there was a wave of Zinfandel plantations, especially in California's Central Valley. The use of white and red grapes for a rosé is not EU compliant.
