This brand wine from the USA is made from the red wine variety Zinfandel white and blended with wine from white wine varieties such as Muscat Blanc or Riesling. The mostly medium sweet vinified, tangy-tasting wine with a pale red colour is also called Blush. It was already produced at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and was considered a Californian Clairet (Claret) at that time. In the 1980s, it became popular and due to its great success, a White Grenache was also created. This led to a wave of Zinfandel plantings, especially in California's Central Valley. Using white and red grapes for a rosé is not EU compliant.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
