Weiss Markus

The winery is located in the municipality of Gols in the Burgenland wine-growing region of Neusiedlersee (Austria). It is managed by Markus Weiss. After the HTL for aeronautical engineering in Eisenstadt, he started studying "Oenology and Wine Economy" at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna. The vineyards cover six hectares of vineyards, which are planted with the red wine varieties Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, St.Laurent and Blauburgunder. We practice consistently natural viticulture with biological nutrition of the vines, biotechnical processes and integrated plant protection. The flagship is the red wine cuvée "Markus" from all red wine varieties, which is aged in barriques for 18 months after fermentation in steel tanks and malolactic fermentation in large wooden barrels.
