The winery is located in the municipality of Dobermannsdorf in the wine-growing region of Weinviertel in Lower Austria. It was founded in the 1950s by Anton Weinwurm. After gaining practical experience with top Austrian winemakers and the Andrew Peace winery in Australia, the winery has been run by his grandson Georg Weinwurm since 2001. Since 2006 he has also been a trained cellar master. The vineyards cover 14 hectares of vineyards in the Kugelberg and Schilling vineyards, for example. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Red Muscat, Müller-Thurgau, Muskat-Ottonel and Welschriesling, as well as with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blauburger, Blauer Portugieser, Merlot and Syrah. Natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is consistently practised. The wines are marketed under the label "Weinwurm's". The top line "Überdrüber" comprises wines vinified with the greatest finesse from the best vineyards cultivated with special care. The "Casca" line, presented at the beginning of 2008, was named after the flower goddess of the Incas. The wines "Pinot Blanc Selection" and "Zweigelt Exquisit" are exclusively available in selected flower shops. Various Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner) wines are also produced.
