The winery is located in the municipality of Röschitz near Retz in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Weinviertel. The traditional family business was first mentioned in a document in 1870. Today it is run by Regina and Martin Weineck. The vineyards cover ten hectares in the Marktweg, Mühlberg, Lange Ried, Hinterholz, Lauschen, Reipersberg and Steinleiten vineyards on the foothills of the Manhartsberg. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Malvasier (Frühroter Veltliner), Chardonnay and Müller-Thurgau, as well as with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blauburger and Merlot. The quality criteria are reduced yields through appropriate pruning, thinning out of grapes and intensive foliage work, as well as manual harvesting at the optimal time of ripeness. Gentle grape processing should result in tangy, dry, acidic and fruity white wines, as well as velvety, tannin-rich red wines. The white wines are matured in steel tanks, the red wines in large wooden barrels and in barriques. The premium wines include, for example, various Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner), Riesling vom Urgestein and the red wine cuvée "BMZ" (Blauburger, Merlot, Zweigelt). The winery is a member of the winegrowers' association Weingüter Retzer Land.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
