The company was founded on 20 March 2013 by Utz Graafmann (founder and managing director of the digital wine platform) and Alexander Schreck (brand manager). wein.plus) and Alexander Schreck (brand expert with a focus on new media) under the name Wein-Plus Eventmarketing GmbH and has been operating under the name Wein-Plus Solutions GmbH (WPS) since 10 December 2014. The main activity is the organisation and handling of national and international wine events with 50 to 8,000 participants, online events, trade fair participations and roadshows. This applies to both the B2B (for traders, restaurateurs, media representatives) and B2C (for consumers) sectors. In addition, the two special innovations "Digital Wine Glass" and the "WineSamples" are offered for contemporary marketing. A database of more than 200,000 private wine lovers, around 10,000 specialist retailers and 5,500 restaurateurs as well as more than 1,300 trade journalists in German-speaking countries is available, which can be used for various campaigns for and by customers.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
