Weber Rudolf

The "Weber Family Winery" is located in the municipality of Lutzmannsburg in the DAC area of Mittelburgenland (Austria). The high quality standard was set by senior Rudolf Weber, one of the red wine pioneers of Mittelburgenland. His initials "RW" still adorn the labels today. The winery is run by Helmut Weber, and his son Günther is responsible for vinification. The vineyards cover 12 hectares in the Altsatz, Auleitner and Kirchner vineyards. They are planted exclusively with red wine varieties. The main variety is Blaufränkisch, the others are Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. Special attention is paid to the care of the vineyards, while in the cellar there is as little intervention as possible. The wines are fermented in steel tanks and, depending on the quality, aged for up to 30 months in large oak barrels or barriques after biological acid reduction. The flagship of the house is the Bordeaux-style red wine cuvée "Villa Nomine Lusmann" (Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon) named after the old place name mentioned in documents from 1156. Other premium wines are, for example, Mittelburgenland DAC (Blaufränkisch), Zweigelt Alter Weingarten and the cuvée "Composee" (Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, CS). The winery is a member of the association Blaufränkisch Mittelburgenland.
