warm

Term for the taste of mostly red wines in the context of a wine evaluation or wine address, which is usually to be understood positively. The higher alcohol content thus gives a wine expression, fullness and power. However, this can also refer to the ruby red, bright colour. If there is an excess of alcohol, this is referred to negatively as brandy-like, burning or pungent. Related terms are alcoholic and peppery, and to some extent powerful, mighty, heavy and bulky.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
