The winery is located in the community of Essenheim (Nierstein area) in the German wine growing region of Rheinhessen. The tradition-rich enterprise can look back on more than 300 years of wine-growing tradition, as ancestors of the Wagner family acquired vineyards here as early as 1692. In the 19th century, Jean Wagner (1875-1965) earned great merits as a great admirer of French culture and viticulture, bringing back new ideas for red wine production from his travels in France. Since 2002, the estate has been managed by the Wagner brothers. Ulrich Wagner, who gained experience in Baden and South Africa after his studies in Geisenheim, is responsible for the cellar. Dr. Andreas Wagner returned to the estate after his studies in politics and history and is responsible for the sale of the wines. He is also active as a crime novelist and has written five works from the winemaking milieu to date
