The winery is located in the municipality of Siefersheim (Bingen area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. Since 1992, it has been run by the eighth generation of the family, Daniel Wagner, who had previously gained practical experience in Tuscany, Bordeaux and California (Carneros). The vineyards cover a total of about 18 hectares of vines in the single vineyards Heerkretz, Goldenes Horn and Höllberg (Siefersheim). Half of them are planted with Riesling, white Burgundy varieties (25%), Silvaner, Scheurebe, Sauvignon Blanc and various red wine varieties. The vineyards have been farmed organically since 2005, with official certification in 2008. The philosophy of the house is that excellent wines are produced in the vineyard. The cornerstones of the in-house quality philosophy are meticulous vineyard work, consistent yield restriction, and selective hand harvesting. The winery has been a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates) and Message in a Bottle since 2004.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
