The winery is located in the municipality of Siefersheim ( Bingen area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. It was founded in 1845. Cathrin and Daniel Wagner are the eighth generation of the family to take over the business from their parents. The owner previously gained experience in wineries in Tuscany, Bordeaux and California (Los Carneros). David van den Höövel is jointly responsible as cellar master. The winery has been a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) since 2004.

Vineyards & grape varieties

The vineyards in the Rheinhessen Switzerland region cover around 20 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites HEERKRETZ, Goldenes Horn, HÖLLBERG (Siefersheim) and SCHARLACHBERG (Bingen), as well as vineyards in Fürfeld and Neu-Bamberg. They are mainly planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Silvaner as well as smaller proportions of the Scheurebe, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat varieties. In terms of red wine varieties, the main focus is on Pinot Noir and a small parcel of Merlot.
