The traditional winery is located in the municipality of Deutsch-Schützen in the Eisenberg DAC area of Burgenland (Austria). From the 1999 vintage onwards, the two wineries Wachter and Wiesler merged. Franz Wachter is the managing director and his son Christoph is the cellar master. Attached is a Buschenschank and a "Wohnothek" on the Ratschen. The vineyards cover 13 hectares. The centrepiece is the parish vineyard with 35-year-old Blaufränkisch vines in the middle of the Weinberg vineyard. The red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, as well as the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling and Weißburgunder are cultivated to 95%. In addition, grapes are purchased from two hectares.
