The white grape variety is a new cross between Budai Zöld x Pinot Gris. Synonyms or breeding numbers are B 38 and Badacsony 38. The cross was made in Hungary in 1957 by the breeders Ervin Kiss and Ferenc Kiraly. It is cultivated in the Badacsony, Balaton-felvidék and Kunsag areas. In 2016, six hectares of vineyard were designated (Kym Anderson).
