The winery is located in the municipality of Droß in the wine-growing region of Kremstal(Lower Austria). An inn is attached to the estate. A vineyard in "Drozze" was first mentioned in documents as early as 1253. The " Lesehof ", built by the Drozze family, also served as a "Vorspannhof" for horse transports, who stopped for a rest before the arduous climb to the Waldviertel and "harnessed" additional horses. This is also the origin of the name of the winery. The estate came into the possession of the Mayr family in 1898. Under Anton and Brigitta Mayr, the estate was converted from an agriculturally oriented business to viticulture. Today, the business is run by their daughter Silke Mayr.
The Wine lexicon helps me to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge. Thank you for this Lexicon that will never end in terms of topicality! That's what makes it so exciting to come back often.
