The winery is located in Strassoldo, a medieval castle village between Palmanova and Aquileia in the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The winery is based in a historic 18th century villa surrounded by a park with centuries-old trees. It has been family-owned since 1937 and is now run by the fourth generation, Roberto Vitas, with Andrea Pittana as the oenologist in charge. The vineyards cover 15 hectares. In the last few years, all the vineyards have been replanted using the most modern methods of cultivation. The red wine varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso are cultivated, as well as the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Friulano, Malvasia, Ribolla Gialla, Sauvignon Blanc and Traminer. In order to be able to control the entire production chain from the grape from their own cultivation to the finished bottle, all processes take place exclusively on their own farm under the personal management of the family. The wines are produced as DOC Friuli Aquileia or IGT. Grappa is also produced.
