The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Arvina, Arvina de Petralia, Bentinora, Bertinora, Bianchino di Bertinoro, Bianco Tenero, Buddelina, Cascarella, Crepolino, Mehlweiss, Rossola, Rossola Bianca, Uva di Bertinoro, Uva Dorata, Vesparola and Vispalora. The ancestry (parentage) is unknown. It was a parent of the varieties Maiolica, Minutolo and Vulpea, which were created by presumably natural crossing. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
