Vins du Thouarsais

Former VDQS area on the southern Loire northwest of the Haut-Poitou AOC area for white, rosé and red wines. It comprised 25 hectares of vineyards in 16 communes. The area was integrated into the adjoining Anjou AOC area to the north in 2011 in connection with the EU wine market regulation that took effect in 2009 with a change in the wine quality levels.
