Vino Gross

Producer description of "Vino Gross"

The winery is located in the municipality of Gorca in Slovenska Štájerska (Lower Styria) in the Haloze area in the Podravje region of Slovenia. It is run by Maria and Michael Gross (the parental business is the Gross Winery in Ratsch, Southern Styria). The first vineyard was acquired in 2005 and the areas have been constantly expanded. In 2011, a technically renovated winery (press house, vaulted cellar) located high above Gorca was put into operation. The vineyards cover 18 hectares of vines at an altitude of 300 to 500 metres above sea level on extremely steep slopes of up to 65% on exclusively terraced slopes on poor, rocky soils of calcareous clay marl.
