A system from the company Coravin, which became famous with its wine preservation system. With Vinitas, a 0.75-litre standard bottle can be divided into seven miniature bottles. This results in a volume of 0.11 litres per bottle, which is slightly less than an eighth of a 0.125-litre wine. According to the manufacturer, this guarantees a wine shelf life of up to 12 months. The system makes it possible to offer even exquisite, expensive wines without any loss of quality. This is primarily intended to appeal to younger consumers who cannot afford whole bottles of higher-priced wines. The "Wine Academy" wine school in Napa Valley, as well as the wineries Langton's, Ceretto, Chateau Montelena, Château Haut-Bailly and the oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt were involved in the development of the device.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
