Vinissima

The association "Vinissima - Frauen & Wein e.V." was founded in 1991 by seven wine women in the Kaiserstuhl region of southern Baden. New members are only accepted on the basis of a personal recommendation from a member. There are over 500 members in ten regional groups. The board is elected every two years during the general meeting. Re-election is only possible once, so that all board positions are filled after four years at the latest. At that time, women were underrepresented in the wine industry.

The exchange of knowledge and experience, getting to know each other personally and solidarity with one another are an essential part of the Vinissima concept. Vinissima sees itself as a nationwide, professional and cross-generational network for women who work as winemakers, oenologists, scientists, wine merchants, restaurateurs, sommeliers, journalists or wine marketers. Further training and exchange between members is promoted through many activities at national and regional level.
