The winery is located in the municipality of Mörbisch (Kirchengasse 4) in the DAC area of Leithaberg in Burgenland (Austria). It is owned by Herbert and Elfe Sommer. A guesthouse with holiday flats is attached. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vines in the Altenberg and Goldberg vineyards. They are 70% planted with the red wine varieties Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Tempranillo, and 30% with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Weißburgunder, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gelber Muskateller. After a temperature-controlled fermentation, the fruity white wines mature for a few months in stainless steel tanks. The red wines undergo biological acid degradation and the top red wines then mature for another year in barriques. The premium wines include the white wine Mörbischer Opernballwein, the red wine cuvée Classique, the red wine Seravino (Zweigelt), noble sweet Trockenbeerenauslesen, and ice wines. Sparkling wines, noble brandies (grape, pomace, wine) and liqueurs are also produced.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
