The cooperative is located in the municipality of Aldeanueva de Ebro in the Spanish Rioja sub-region of Rioja Oriental. It was founded in 1956. The members' vineyards cover a total of 2,600 hectares of vines on Mount Yerga. The classic Rioja varieties Graciano, Garnacha Tinta, Mazuelo and Tempranillo are cultivated. An average of 18 million kilograms of grapes are processed annually into Rioja wines in red, rosé and white varieties under the brand name "Azabache". There are 16,000 barrique barrels available for ageing.
