Vinalies Internationales

International wine competition, which has been held annually in February since 1993 by the "Union Francaise des Oenologues" (Association of French Oenologists) under the patronage of the International Wine Office OIV in Paris. In 2003, 2,268 submitted wines (of which 1,026 were from France) from 35 countries were blind tasted and evaluated by 129 professional tasters in 14 juries. A total of 679 medals were awarded. There are three award classes: Prix des Vinalies, Prix d'Excellence and Grand Prix d'Excellence. See also under awards and wine events.
