Versailles

Synonym (also White Versailler, White Versoalen) for the grape variety Versoaln; see there.

The white grape variety originates from Trentino-Alto Ad ige (Italy) or from France. Synonyms are Versailler, White Versoalen and White Versailler. The peculiar name could be derived from the local dialect word "verdolen" for "green" regarding berry colour or "versoaln" in connection with the pergola style of upbringing.
