The red grape variety (also Prugnolino Medio) comes from Italy. It is one of the many varieties with Vernaccia in its name. A possible relationship to other Vernaccia varieties or the parentage is unknown. The late-ripening, high-yielding vine is cultivated in small quantities in the Marche region, where it is mainly used for IGT wines. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).

For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
