The red grape variety comes from Italy. It is one of the many varieties with Vernaccia in its name. A possible relation to other Vernaccia varieties or the parentage (parenthood) is unknown. This late-maturing, high-yielding vine is grown in small quantities in the Marche region, where it is mainly used for IGT wines. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).
