The white grape variety originates from Spain. Synonyms are Verdall, Verdell, Verdiel, Verdiell, Verdier and Verdill. The parentage is unknown. It yields light white wines with aromas of apples and pineapple. The vine, which is threatened with extinction, was reactivated by the winemaker Daniel Belda and is mainly cultivated by him in small quantities in the Vall dels Alforins in the DO area of Valencia ( Levante region). In 2016, 50 hectares of vines were designated (Kym Anderson).
