Verdese

The white grape variety comes from Italy. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. It must not be confused with the Verdiso variety due to morphological similarities. The late maturing vine produces straw-yellow white wines with a neutral aroma similar to Riesling Italico (Welschriesling). It is cultivated in small stocks on Lake Como in Lombardy. In 2016, however, no stocks were identified (Kym Anderson).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
