The white grape variety is an interspecific new breeding between Wilder (Carter x Black Hamburg) x Winchell. Synonyms or breeding numbers are Ontario 29143 and V 28143. It contains genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 1938 in Ontario in Canada by the breeder J. R. van Haarlem. It is used as a wine grape and table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
