Varone

The wine trading company "Frédéric Varone Vins SA" with its headquarters in the city of Sion in the Swiss canton of Valais was founded in 1900 by Frédéric Varone. Today it is managed in the fourth generation by his great-grandson Philippe Varone. As a novelty in Switzerland, a cellar and a bottling plant have been operated together with the winery "Charles Bonvin Fils SA" under the company name "Les Celliers de Sion" since 1992, but both companies continue to operate independently. The Varone vineyards comprise 15 hectares of vineyards in the Clavoz, Clos de Châteauneuf, Combe Bernard and Combe d'Uvrier estates. A further 50 hectares are purchased from 200 contract winegrowers.
