Valnure

Subzone of the DOC area Colli Piacentini; see there.
DOC area for a wide range of red and white wines in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, which was created by merging a number of independent DOC areas. The former Gutturnio subzone was classified as an independent DOC area in 2011. The name means "Hills of Piacenza" in English. Excavated fossilized vine roots and grape seeds indicate an ancient history of viticulture as early as 2,000 BC

The zone includes the municipalities of Caminata, Nibbiano, Pianello Val Tidone, Piozzano and Ziano Piacentino, and hilly areas of the municipalities of Agazzano, Alseno, Bettola, Bobbio, Borgonovo Val Tidone, Carpaneto Piacentino, Castell'Arquato, Castel San Giovanni, Coli, Gazzola, Gropparello, Lugagnano Val d'Arda, Pecorara, Ponte...
