Valerien

The white grape variety is an interspecific new variety; however, the parentage is unknown. Synonyms are Seyve-Villard 23-410 and Valerian. The hybrid was crossed in France by grower Bertille Seyve (1864-1939). The variety is cultivated in the Vendée department on the Loire estuary. In 2016, 23 hectares of vineyards were designated there. There is also a tiny population in Romania (Kym Anderson).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
