DOC area (also known as Terradeiforti) for white and red wines. The suffix ‘Terradeiforti’ (Land of Fortresses) refers to the numerous medieval castles and fortifications along the Adige Valley. The former sub-zone of the Valdadige DOC region was classified as an independent DOC region in 2010. The region spans the southern part of the Trentino-South Tyrol region (Trentino) and the Veneto region.

The area comprises the municipality of Avio in the province of Trento (Trentino) and the municipalities of Brentino Belluno, Dolcè and Rivoli Veronese in the province of Verona (Veneto). If the grapes come from classified vineyards, the term ‘Vigna’ may be used, followed by the name of the vineyard. The vineyards cover around 120 hectares of vineyard area.
