The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Barbarossa, Cassano, Nucedda, Uva Cavallina and Uva Sacra. The parentage is unknown. It is a parent of the variety Achladi, which was created by natural crossing. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
