The winery is located in the municipality of Kaltern (Caldaro) in the Italian wine-growing area of South Tyrol (Trentino-Alto Adige region). In 2006 the winery started to process the grapes itself, before that they were delivered to a cooperative. The family has been in the winegrowing business for several generations, today the company is managed by Thomas Unterhofer. According to the company philosophy, tradition, nature, passion and quality should be reflected in every bottle. The vineyards cover four hectares of vineyards in the communities of Kampenn and Kaltern on mostly very steep slopes, which are cultivated by hand according to environmentally friendly guidelines. They are planted with the white wine varieties Weißburgunder(Pinot Blanc), Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Kerner and Bronner, as well as Merlot and several varieties of the red wine variety Vernatsch(Schiava). Premium wines include the DOC South Tyrolean white wines Sauvignon Blanc and Kerner (yield-reduced 50 quintals/hectare) and the red wine DOC St. Magdalener (20% of the grapes are dried on the vine). Around 22,000 bottles of wine are produced annually, 15% go to Germany. The winery is a member of Freie Weinbauer Südtirol, Wein.Kaltern, Konsortium Südtiroler Wein and FIVI (Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti).
