The white grape variety originates from China. Synonyms are Small Carnelian and Tuo Xian Putao. The parentage is unknown, but a synonym points to the Carnelian variety. It has been known in the eponymous Tuo Xian region in the north of the country for more than two centuries. The medium to late ripening vine produces large, elongated grapes with pink-coloured berries. It is resistant to frost and drought. The variety is used in Tuo Xian and Tuo Ke Tuo for pressing and table grape No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
