The white grape variety is a new cross between Macabeo x Sultana. The cross was made in 1965 at the CSIRO Plant Industry Institute in Merbein , Australia, by grower A. J. Antcliff. The variety was created specifically for the climatic conditions in Australia. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
