The winery is located in the municipality of Stratzing near the town of Krems in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kremstal. The family's winemaking tradition dates back to the beginning of the 18th century. The current site was acquired in 1836 and expanded over the generations. Today, the farm is run by Franz and Margit Türk. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vineyards on loess, primary rock and conglomerate soils in the vineyards Am großen Berg, Frechau, Kerschbaum, Sandgrube, Thurnerberg, Wachtberg and Weinzierlberg. More than 85% of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (70%), Chardonnay, Riesling and Muskateller, and 15% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon. Sustainable, natural viticulture is practised. The aim is to produce long-lasting wines that reflect the terroir. The white wines are matured in steel tanks, Chardonnay also in barriques, and are stored for a long time on the fine lees. In years with suitable weather conditions, Trockenbeerenauslese and ice wines are also produced. The winery is a member of the Kremstaler Convent and Traditionsweingüter Österreich associations.
