Tsar Simeon

Brand name for a well-known red wine from Bulgaria, named after the Bulgarian Tsar Simeon the Great (893-927). It can come from different areas, such as Vinenka, Sliven Dve Moglin (both from the Danube Valley) and Nova Zagora (south-eastern Balkan Mountains). The wine can be a single-variety Cabernet Sauvignon wine or a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It is aged in barriques (18 to 36 months) and can be stored for a very long time in the best years.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
