IGT area (regional wines) or Toscano for white, red and rosé wines in the Italian region of Tuscany. It covers 13,400 vineyards throughout the region in the provinces of Arezzo, Firenze, Grosseto, Livorno, Lucca, Massa-Carrara, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato and Siena. The area was created in 1995 especially for the Super Tuscans. As a result, wines that were previously only labelled as Vino da Tavola can now be declared as protected wines.
All grape varieties authorised in the Tuscany region may be used. Varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the variety in question, up to 15% can be other authorised varieties. A minimum alcohol content, but no ageing period, is prescribed for each wine type.

If I were to rate websites, you would deserve the highest rating. It is rare to come across websites that provide such a large amount of data and are still so intuitive to use. Respect for the lovingly researched and informatively prepared encyclopedia. Keep it up!
