Torontél

The white grape variety possibly originates from South America (Argentina or Chile). Synonyms are Moscatel Amarilla, Torontél Amarillo and Torrontél Corriente.According to the VIVC catalogue, it is a probable natural cross between Listán Prieto x Muscat d'Alexandrie. There is an independent variety called Moscatel Amarillo (with synonym Moscatel Amarilla) with the same parentage. It is possible that these two varieties are identical. In 2016, no stocks were reported under the name Torontel (Kym Anderson statistics). See also under Criolla.
