Description (Greek: place description) of the terrain, water bodies, settlements, traffic routes and other conditions of a part of the earth's surface. In viticulture, the surface structure such as slope, terrain elevations and their altitude (all other things being equal, the temperature drops by 0.6 °C per 100 m), exposure (solar radiation), proximity to water bodies in connection with the soil type and in interaction with the climate and weather exert a great influence. Climatic conditions influenced or determined by the topography are called topoclimate. In precision viticulture, these influencing factors are taken into account accordingly. The picture shows the topographic map of Maui, with 1883 km² the second largest island of the archipelago Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean. See also under NDVI.
I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
