Description of the terrain, water bodies, settlements, transport routes and other features of a part of the earth's surface. In viticulture, the shape of the surface in connection with the soil type and in interaction with the climate and weather exerts a major influence:

Slope position and slope inclination in °(degrees)
Terrain elevations and their altitude (all other things being equal, the temperature drops by 0.6 °C per 100 m)
Exposure (solar radiation)
Proximity to bodies of water

Climatic conditions influenced or determined by the topography are called topoclimate. In precision viticulture, these influencing factors are taken into account accordingly.
